Geocache Description:

**Not at Posted Coordinates**

**Not in St. Paul either**

I've been told I need to embrace winter. Even though it seems we are locked in this barren tundra six months out of twelve, I suppose I should comply since hating it doesn't change it.

The Quintessential winter event in the area is the St. Paul Winter Carnival. I thought I would do a little tribute to the man leading the show, King Boreas (the REAL one that is, not the person who has adopted that name as their geocaching moniker, I have not met that person).

As the legend goes, King Boreas was the "King of the Winds" and assigned a wind to each of his brothers. He and his brothers "covorted gaily" on their many travels, but it was not until he found the beautiful city of St. Paul that he "whistled in sheer ecstasy" and deemed it the world's "winter playground".

When winter moves in every year, so does King Boreas. In years where he is feeling especially majestic or the winter looks to last longer than average, he often builds himself a house in which to dwell during his stay in the St. Paul area.

Long Live King Boreas!
