How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
A short, steep walk to a well-hidden cache with views of eastern Alice Springs.
This cache is best accessed from Undoolya Lookout, which is about 3.1 KM East of Alice Springs, a decent walk, pleasant ride or short drive from the centre of the town.
To access the lookout, follow Undoolya Road east out of Alice Springs. There is dirt access road on the left hand side of Undoolya Road located about 3.1 KM out from the Todd Tavern (Corner of Wills Tce and Leichardt Tce) or 1 KM further east from the junction of Kurrajong Drive and Undoolya Road. Take the dirt road (marked as trailhead here) and drive or walk a short distance up to Undoolya Lookout. Enjoy the view. This area is crown land. You can park your vehicle here if you drove.
The cache is hidden on the top of the ridge directly North of the lookout, make your way carefully up the short, steep slope. When you are almost on top of the cache you should have views of eastern Alice Springs and be able to see down into the Shooting Club grounds and White Gates.
The cache itself is a small retangular box which is sealed against the weather and reinforced with grey electrical tape. It is not buried or concealed as such but 'tucked away' well out of casual view (unless you are a lizard).
