Geocache Description:

A nice easy beginners level Cache with the aim of bringing people to see some excellent tree sculptures.

Victoria Park, Crosby, Liverpool was opened in 1902.  History is sparse but presumably was named after HRH Victoria to either commemorate her reign, or memorialise her death on 22nd January 1901.

Some great improvements have been made to the park in recent years, thanks to the Friends of Victoria Park.  The bowling greens have been improved, the pavilion refurbished, new play ground etc. due to an £800,000 award.

A launch event in 2010 saw, as part of the festivities, a tree sculpting display, the results of which are the purpose of this cache.

Roy Bouffler, a local artist, is responsible for their creation. Take some time to wander the park and see his other creations. Cache is now something a bit more camouflaged, in keeping with its' surroundings. Just a log book. Bring a pen. Please be careful re-hiding.
