Geocache Description:

This cache is placed at one of the local landmark in Stephensburg, KY.  Mostly known for this joint and the schools.  You are looking for a magnetic key holder.

Situated a little more than 10 miles southwest of Elizabethtown, the town's first residents were from the Stevens (or Stephens) family.  A post office was established here in 1829.  The town was located along the Illinois Central Railroad and developed largely because of the railway.  A large lake was crafted shortly after 1829.  By 1852, a large mill was operating nearby.  In the late 1800's, the Stephensburg Quarry was started.  The business sold several grades of rock, as well as a fine grade of lime.  The rock products were used for industry and in building roads.  Around 1914, the Kentucky Stone Company began operating.
