Devan is an extremely active 6 year old boy who caches with his family. Devan is usually way to busy to actually get much cache hunting done, but he jumped at the chance to put out a cache of his own and when I went out to check on some sites I was working on, he came along.
We looked at lots of places and after placing the cache found a couple more that he liked, but, since this is Devan's first cache, we really just couldn't resist this spot.
Devan frequently discovers he has done something which prompts his mother to exclaim that she has never seen such a rootwadded mess in all her life, or at least not since yesterday.
Thus it was that we simply could not resist placing his cache at this lovely rootwad.
We love taking walks up here on the ridge and we hope you will too.
The terrain difficulty reflects the fact that in spring and summer bushwhacking out to Devan's Rootwad will require a little persistence, a devl may care attitude toward poisonous plants and industrial quantities of tic repellent. In the fall and winter, excluding Ice and heavy rain, it will be somewhat easier going.
