One of the most surprising hikes i have been on in a long time! This time of year Devil's Canyon is lush with vegetation and there are spectacular oak trees all along the canyon. The one difficulty is the Poison Oak, so wear long plants! None of the caches we grabbed or placed were in or around any PO but it is all over the sides of the trail in sections! This is a nice gentle rise all the way back 5.5 miles..
Just short of the top, we stopped and placed one more. Had a great hike up...so beautiful. You will be looking for a decon container, hanging in a large oak on the west side of the trail. Its abot Foo head high...If you know how tall i, then that is an advantage. You have made the 5.5 mile journey to the top, you have several choices...west to Simi, east to Browns Canyon/ Oat Mountain or turn around at the next cache..The cache is log only so bring a pen and if you are out this far, i am sure you are carrying far more than that... As always , please pack out your refuse and a little extra...clean it up for everyone else to enjoy a little more. Happy Caching!
