Geocache Description:

Small cache with log and swag at a nearly forgotten memorial.

In 1918, the city of Charlotte was a much different place than it is now. With a population hovering around 100,000, Mecklenburg County was largely agricultural and you were barely outside of downtown and you would be surrounded by corn fields.
One such farm at the corner of Park Road and Mockingbird Avenue was owned by the Graham family. The Graham's eldest son was born on November 7, 1918, and named William Franklin Graham Jr. after his father. To avoid confusion, as families often do, they started calling the son "Billy".
Billy Graham grew up on this farm and went on to do some pretty important things. This small memorial on what is now an extension campus of Pfeiffer University marks that place of his birth.

"I'm just a dairy farmer from North Carolina. I never thought anybody would come to hear me preach". - Billy Graham
