Port Aransas Pirate Treasure Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Vertighost: Cache owner (CO) has not responded and, as there's been no cache to find for an extended period of time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please note that caches that have been archived due to maintenance issues or lack of cache owner communication are not eligible to be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Cache is located along the Port A shipping channel. Flat, paved sidewalk to within 10 feet. Then watch your step if the rocks are wet.

Stories abound of Port A pirate treasure. Occasionally a gold coin has washed up on the beach it is said. My finds have been limited to loose change in the parking lot. If you had a pirate map, it would have paced the cache about 25 steps from a benchmark. A modern day pirate may have hidden his treasure here in this fashion, duck tape is irresistible!!!!! Park along the jetty, enjoy the walk. Cache is a 32 oz Costco nut jar with some swag, log and a pen.
