Puszczy Augustowskiej, leżące "na uboczu wydeptanych szlaków". Na początek zapraszam na wędrówkę w kierunku Udrynia; do miejsca, w którym rośnie kilka prastarych
dębów szypułkowych (Quercus robur L.). Każdy z nich jest
pomnikiem przyrody. Dęby, niestety, nie mają się zbyt dobrze przy dzisiejszym zanieczyszczeniu powietrza i kwaśnych deszczach. Nie tylko u nas, ale i w całej Europie to drzewo dziesiątkowane jest przez choroby i szkodniki. Udryńskie Olbrzymy są jak Drzewce, niektóre z nich są martwe, inne słabowite, dwa cieszą się wciąż całkiem niezłą kondycją. Wszystkie imponują swoimi rozmiarami...
Dziewiąty kesz tylko symbolicznie poświęcony jest chrząszczom i żukom, jako że najpewniej - latem - spotkaliście ich na scieżce dotąd wystarczająco dużo. Mnie ich barwy i fromy zawsze zachwycają. Problem w tym, że czasem tak się spieszą, iż nie bardzo mają czas na muskularne pozy przed objektywem ;)
Z tego miejsca widać też pierwszego martwego olbrzyma; jednego z kilku będących celem tego trailu (zdjęcie obok).

I will try to show you some beautyful places in Augustów Primeval Forest (Puszcza Augustowska), which are not on the meanstream touristic list. Let`s take a walk to Udryń; to the place where you will meet few very old pedunculate oaks, (Quercus robur), every of them a natural monument. Well, oaks in whole Europe have problems with air pollution and acid rain, so here. Few of the Udryń giants are dead, few are still alive. But all of them are formidable!
Ninth cache on the trail is dedicated to the beetles. In summer - till this place - you surely saw many of them. I`m always smitten with those little guys. Unfortunately they are mostly such in hurry-scurry that it is a problem to shoot them a good photo.

Naturdenkmal. Eichen haben`s heutzutage leider nicht sonderlicht leicht, in ganz Europa setzt ihnen sowohl Luftverschmutzung wie auch sauerer Regen zu. Die Udryńschen Giganten sind ein wenig wie Ents aus Tolkiens Büchern: einge längst tot, andere weiterhin am Leben. Alle beeindrucken mit ihrer Größe und Form...
Der neunte Cache ist den Käfern gewidmet. Symbolisch, selbstverständlich, da man - im Sommer - bis hierher eine Menge von ihnen trefen kann. Ich bin immer begeistert beim Anblick ihrer Farbenpracht und Formenvielfalt. Unglücklicherweise sind die Kerle meistens so in Eile, dass es schwierig ist, sie gut abzubilden.
Von dieser Stelle sieht man schon den ersten toten Riesen (Bild links), eine der im Titel erwähnten Eichen, die uns hierher gebracht haben.
