This cache is located at the posted coordinates within Camano Island State Park, a 173-acre camping park with 6,700-feet of rocky shoreline and beach. The park provides sweeping views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and Mount Rainier. You can explore the beach, watch the boat traffic, hike the forest loop trails - and geocache! A Discover Pass is required for parking.
The cache is only a few feet off the trail/parking, and you do NOT need to bushwhack. The difficulty is for the challenge, not the hide.
Challenge Requirements
- The complete GeoTour cache list is here, and only caches on this list qualify for the challenge; other caches in State Parks do not count. Qualifying caches have the series name "WaStatePks100."
- You may pre-sign the physical log in the cache container at anytime, but you cannot log a find here until you have fulfilled the challenge criteria. Find logs by non-finishers will be deleted.
- To verify your finds, create a public bookmark list that includes this cache and 50 cache finds on the Washington State Parks Centennial GeoTour. For each cache, include the date you found it.
- You may log a find once you have fulfilled the challenge requirements; you don't need to wait for approval from the cache owner. However, if a review of your bookmark list shows that you have not completed the challenge, your find will be deleted.
GeoTour Completion
The Washington State Parks GeoTour ended Sept. 30, 2016. This challenge cache will be archived at the end of December 2016.
This cache does NOT count as a GeoTour cache for the purposes of qualifying for the GeoTour coin. Ranger Tina and hydnsek maintain an up-to-date finish list on the WSGA site.
