Camino para subir al Iztaccíhuatl
Ojo de Buey o Murciélago es una formación rocosa muy fácil de reconocer. Se encuentra en el camino para subir desde La Joya al Refugio del Grupo de los Cien. Esta a unos 15 minutos antes de llegar al refugio. En la temporada alta, cuando el refugio y sus alrededores están llenos, es recomendable acampar en algún lugar cerca de esta roca.
El cache se encuentra a pocos metros del camino subiendo a mano izquierda.
Este es un cache de ALTA MONTAÑA y se encuentra a una altura de 4691 m.s.n.m. Para llegar aquí se requiere una buena condición física. Es muy importante informarse y seguir las recomendaciones de alpinismo en alta montaña.
La temporada mas recomendable para el ascenso es de Diciembre hasta Abril. Sobre todo los fines de semana hay muchos alpinistas en esta ruta. Para cualquier contingencia es recomendable llevar radio de dos vías FRS/GMRS (Walkie-Talkie). Muchos grupos de alpinistas y los del Socorro Alpino los están usando.
Dependiendo de las condiciones climatológicas puede haber nieve en el camino.
Route to climb the Iztaccíhuatl
Ojo de Buey or Murciélago is a rock formation very easy to recognize. It is located on the way up from La Joya to the Refuge Grupo de los Cien. It's about 15 minutes before coming to the shelter. In the high season, when the shelter and its surroundings are full, it´s recommendable to camp somewhere near this rock.
The cache is located a few meters from the way going up on the left.
This is a cache of HIGH MOUNTAINS and is located at an altitude of 15,390 ft. To get there requires a good physical condition. It is very important to know and follow the recommendations for high mountain climbing.
The most recommended season for the ascent is from December to April. Especially on weekends there are many alpinists on this route. For any contingency is advisable to carry two-way radio FRS / GMRS (Walkie-Talkie). Many groups of alpinists and Alpine Rescue are using them.
Depending on the weather conditions may be snow on the way.
Route zum Besteigen des Iztaccíhuatl
Ojo de Buey oder Murcielago ist eine leicht zu erkennende Felsformation. Sie befindet sich auf dem Aufstieg von La Joya zur Schutzhütte Grupo de los Cien ungefähr 15 Minuten vor der Schutzhütte. In der Hochsaison, wenn die Hütte und ihre Umgebung überfüllt sind, empfiehlt es sich in der Umgebung dieses Felsens zu zelten.
Der cache befindet sich ein paar Meter vom Weg entfernt, aufsteigend auf der linken Seite.
Das ist ein HOCHGEBIRGS cache, der sich auf einer Höhe von 4691 m befindet. Um bis hierher zu kommen, ist eine gute physische Kondition erforderlich. Es ist sehr wichtig, die Empfehlungen für Hochgebirgsbergsteigen zu kennen und zu befolgen.
Die beste Jahreszeit für den Aufstieg ist von Dezember bis April. Besonders an den Wochenenden befinden sich dann viele Bergsteiger auf dieser Strecke. Für alle Eventualitäten ist es ratsam FRS/GMRS-Funkgeräte (Walkie-Talkie) mitzunehemen. Viele Bergsteigergruppen und auch die Bergrettung benutzen sie.
Je nach Wetterverhältnissen kann streckenweise Schnee liegen.
