Many paths lead into the wild. But not all find what they are seeking.
It began as a simple journey into the wild... but it became so much more.
For a year, the small token I left in this strange location served as a beacon, drawing others out to this remote area. But the reports were troubling... There exists a place, a dark and fearsome place... It has lured many a traveler astray... It calls out to be explored, it beckons...
- "Getting to GZ was easy. I switched from a standard flashlight to professional-grade LED lights and began looking around. Nothing. Occasionally, the lights would swing across an area which I hoped was NOT the hiding spot. It was a deep, dark....place, about 15 feet from GZ. I tried to ignore it, but I kept feeling drawn to The Place. I forced myself to remember that I was alone. It was late at night. If I got trapped in The Place, no one would find me until morning."
- "We had read the previous log and were quite interested in what THE PLACE might be... and when I found tracks circling, I knew I was close to it. Ah! Yes... it draws you in... calls to you to explore it's secrets..."
After my original token mysteriously vanished, I was forced to return here.
I found the path I normally take into the wild temporarily impeded, so I sought other means. Upon entering the wild, I followed many twists and turns, soon becoming quite disoriented. Fearing I would never reach my destination, I pressed onward. Encountering many obstacles, and making many retreats, I eventually found myself at the site of my prior visit. I found the landscape much changed, as if time and the seasons had conspired to reclaim this area. After confirming the loss of my small token, I sought a new location for a new offering.
This time, I was drawn much deeper into the wild. The Place called out to me, and I could not deny it. So, a new token was placed. In a location deeper, darker, and more foreboding than its predecessor...
