Geocache Description:

Please join us for Geocaching's 11th Annual International CITO Weekend and Keep Scottsdale Beautiful Day, Saturday, April 20, 2013 @ 7:30am. We will pick up litter on a portion of Lone Mountain Road between Scottsdale Road and Hayden Road.  This 1-mile section has wide shoulders, fairly level terrain and moderate-to-light traffic which will make our CITO event safe for all participants!

Meet at 7:30am at GZ -- the patio area in front of the AJ grocery store -- to sign the logsheet, complete the "Participant Agreement Form" and pick up supplies.

UPDATE: AJ's has provided discount coupons for our event on 4/20 for that location only: Buy 1 muffin get a free medium coffee or medium tea OR $1.00 off a large coffee or iced tea. Thanks AJ's!

We will be giving out coords for 6 new caches along Lone Mountain Rd. All CITO participants who find and sign the log sheet on 4/20 may claim a FTF.

We are working closely with the City of Scottsdale who will provide safety vests, litter bags and possibly cotton gloves.  Geocachers should bring water and snacks, wear long pants, long sleeve shirts, hat and suncreen for protection from the thorny plants  and trees.  Please also bring thick gloves and grabbers if you have them.

Per City of Scottsdale regulations: no children under the age of 12 are permitted to participate; children between the ages of 12-17 must have parental supervision; and all volunteers will be required to sign a "Participant Agreement Form and Waiver of Liability" , which we can send to you in advance.

Since 2002, tens of thousands of geocachers have cleaned up parks, trails and other geocaching-friendly destinations. Please plan to join the international community on this "Cache In Trash Out (CITO)" event. As a bonus, those attending CITO events this weekend will earn a 2013 CITO Souvenir for their Geocaching profile. Contact us if you have any questions and post your "Will Attend" log. Thanks!
