The roundhouse was Built in 1906 by the C.I. & S.R.R. and is one of the oldest operating roundhouses in existence today. It is operated by the I.H.B.R.R., under an agreement dated 1906. Originally the roundhouse had 38 locomotive stalls to repair steam locomotives, today most of the stalls have been remover and replaced by offices for the repairmen of the Equipment Department. Presentally the are 12 engine stalls to service diesel locomotives. The rear side houses an electric driven turntable which allows the locomotives to be turned in the correct direction for departure.
