Seashore609: We went by again today and it looks like they are not going to clean up the palms and skins from trimming the trees and our lovely little "Hat" will stay buried. Sad but true, we have to Archive this cache.

Geocache Description:

This hat was probably worn by a caveman in it's newer days.

Probably on St. Patrick's Day.


 A camoed altoids tin with Asian currency and small trade items.


    If you look South you will see the Agua Fria Generating Station which is wholly owned by SRP. There are 3 steam generation units and 3 combustion turbine generators. It has 626 megawatts for the six units, plus 200 kilowatts from one solar generating unit. The station can burn either natural gas or oil, depending upon availability and cost.  The station is also capable of solar generation. 
     Construction began in the late 1950s.  Unit 2 was completed in April 1957, Unit 1 in January 1958 and Unit 3 in April 1961.  Units 5 and 6 were completed in July 1974 and Unit 4 in May 1975.  The solar generating unit was completed in March 2001.  Units 1 and 2 cost $24 million total, Unit 3 cost $20 million and Units 4,5 ad 6 cost $22.3 million total.
     Agua Fria units are used to supplement base-load plants and add power during peak demands.  It is a quick source of electricity, capable of producing power with 20-30 minutes.
    
Check out the cotton plant growing nearby but please STAY OUT OF THE FARMERS FIELD.
