Geocache Description:

This is one of six caches being placed in celebration of our Fabulous Florida Birds. This one is for the Swallow-tailed Kite!

As part of the Nature Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival 2013, we are placing 6 caches to celebrate some of the most beautiful birds only found in our region. The areas we have chosen are known for wonderful wildlife viewing, so take some time to enjoy your surroundings!

This locking plastic contains a bird 'calling card' for more info about the Swallow-tailed Kites. For anyone finishing all 6 bird caches and return with proof of your visit - (the bird calling card) to Chinsegut Nature Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Rd 34601 (N 28.37.861 W 082 21.227) you will receive a goody bag with trackables, nanos, or coupons and wildlife booklets. One per family please, and call 754-6722 for office hours.

Fort Cooper is a great, family friendly park with lots to explore. The addition of a Seminole interpretive trail enhances the historical attraction of the site. Birds, water, playgrounds, peaceful nature trails.... Ft Cooper has it all. Well worth the $3.00 per car admission. As with all Florida caches, wear sunscreen and bug repellant, carry water, and watch for wildlife!

Conservation of land and diverse habitat is important to keeping these birds and other Florida wildlife abundant. Eco-tourism helps keep our local economies strong.

!!! Congrats to kpcrystal07 for FTF !!!!
