Geocache Description:

Short hike (0.13 miles) to a unique limestone quarry site used at least 70 years ago.  This is a good cache for new cachers.

This is another History Cache and a chance to experience the rich history of the Verde Valley. Large container is well hidden in an area that gets plenty of visitors.  WATCH FOR RATTLESNAKES!  I was told that limestone from this site was shipped to Japan (haven't found any official history of the site yet and will update this listing if and when I do).  I know the quarry has been here at least 70 years and I think much longer.  If you park at the listed parking coordinates, there is a nice trail up to the cache.  There is another way to get here, but I wouldn't recommend it. Watch your footing and take water if you go when its hot.  Container is painted to match its surroundings.  Please replace it EXACTLY like you find it so it doesn't get muggled.  There are a lot of quality trade items inside and a $40 Wilderness First Aid Book for FTF!
Congrats on shared FTF by Elko Dealers, NOT2L8, & Redcatcher199 ! Thank you for waiting much longer than you had too!
