Geocache Description:

This well hidden large container that is painted to match it's surroundings isn't far from an ancient ruin.  IT IS NOT IN THE RUINS OR CAVES! The coordinates listed here are not for the ruins. Like all sites of this nature it is protected so please tread lightly, don't pick up or remove anything except trash left by others, and don't move rocks or things around.  Geocachers are becoming well know for leaving hide areas better than they find them - Lets keep up the good work!

This is another Verde Valley History Cache. Carefully and thoroughly explore this area as there is a lot to see. Incredible views from the top. Be careful of loose footing, heat, and especially watch where you put your hands and feet - there are RATTLESNAKES in this area! IT IS NOT ON THE TOP OF THE HILL! Work your way around the north side for easiest access. Hillside is pretty steep back there so be careful... This is a great cache for kids, but be very careful of the obvious hazards and please respect the nearby site as you help them with the find. There is another cache very near the parking coordinates that you should certainly find while you are here (GCTX26 Going North? Going South?) and several others not far away. From the parking area to the cache, per GPS, is 0.12 miles (633 feet). A significant but short uphill climb is necessary to get to the cache. It is NOT on top of the hill, but you should explore the entire area. The large container contains a lot of quality trade items and a $40 Wilderness First Aid Book for FTF! Please trade fairly and keep the trades going. As always, many people visit this area, so please replace the cache as found and hide any evidence of your presence. Looks like a lot of people lived here at one time - I can imagine them setting up on the hill watching the cars go by on I-17 to the west... ok, so that is pretty "far fetched", since there were no highways, cars, etc. here around 600 years ago - must have been nice! Congrats to Elko Dealers and Ahern Clan for shared FTF! Thank you for visiting my cache!
