"Papa's A-Team" is located on Birch Lake, near Birchwood, the "Bluegill Capital of Wisconsin." Watercraft is required, or a minimum of 4" clear ice (recommended amount for foot travel) is needed to safely navigate to the site.
This cache is placed in honor of our two granddaughters, whose first names each begin with "A." The girls are collectively, and affectionately known as, "Papa's A-Team."
The cache is winter friendly but is NOT accessible during fall and spring water freezing/thawing transition periods. Please use caution, and stay off the lake if you are uncertain about ice conditions.
Parking and lake access are available at the south end of the lake, at Birchwood Public Landing and at Doolittle Park. In my opinion, winter access is best from Doolittle Park. In season, there is a picnic area, nice beach, and camping and restroom facilities at Doolittle Park, which also charges a $5 boat launching fee.
Geocache Notification Form 2500-118 has been submitted and approved by Kim Lemke of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
