The cache is best approached from the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre (SY7 9RS) in Craven Arms, Shropshire. You can park in the Discovery’s free car park and then take a 15 minute, easy stroll down the meadows.
The cache is a small plastic box at about shoulder height in a tree. But which tree? Kenneth Grahame would have looked for one with the wind blowing through it.
In English folklore, this tree is believed to be quite sinister, capable of uprooting itself and stalking travellers. American red Indians used to tie strips of bark from this tree around there foreheads to relieve headaches; the bark contains salicylic acid, a precursor to aspirin.
