This Is my 4th hide. I love to Geo Cache and I also like to place caches to give others a good caching experience.
This is another in my series in the Welcome area. I have stated before this is a great community and has much history and is also very pretty area to visit. This cache is hidden in an area that people of the community enjoy passing. The beavers have built dams here for years. Their work had backed the water of Mountian Creek into a pond that had seen from time to time people fishing, there has been at least 3 famlies of geese raise here, and I can recall 1 family of ducks who have called this pond home. I know in the words of Phil from Duck Dynasty these are destructive animals at times. Over the past (around 15 years) the land owner and the county have tried to remove the dam. So far it has been a running battle. The dam is torn down in a few days it is back. Torn down again and back in a few days. Now it is back. A little info about Mountian Creek over the years it has flowed thru the country side providing water for wild as well as domestic animals plus feeding ponds and providing wetlands for other animals and an very vital part of the eco system. Many years ago there was a tannery on the creek. I have never visited the ruins of the tannery but I know older people who speak of the site. The cache has an are you can park. These is private property there and if your GPS leds you the the private property it is not there. Be careful as the path has uneven ground. The cache is in a small container with a pencil but I recommend you bring a pen. There is some small SWAG in the container.
Have fun and happy caching.
