A place to recover, rest and then resiliently carry on....
Looking for this cache will bring you to Bubut Hut. A favourite hut for many of us, as its been a spot to hide from the elements or have a meal before we head out for a ride down the Ketam trails. This hut like most other huts in Ubin is named after a variety of bird found in Ubin. The scientific and no nonsense write up about the bird can be found at the information panels at the Hut. But there are loads of folklores surrounding the Bubut bird. Apparently these birds can heal themselves. Whether its a broken leg or a tattered wing, its some sort of a magic parrot-medic. It is also highly valued in parts of Asia because of this ability to heal itself. Medicine men boil its bones to make a curative tea/broth which will help in the recovery of your broken bones and what not. (We highly suggest to visit the nearest hospital and not go Bubut hunting when injured. I'm sure the NEA highly suggests this too.)
The cache is near the hut. Just up the road will be a road barricade. And let your GPS do the rest.
(Its a magnetic micro. Please put the log back in the same way you took it out. With the metal bit facing up, so that when opening the container, the log pops up together with it. You'll know what I mean when you find it.)
A HUGE HUGE HUGE thanks to Bärbel helping with this cache and correcting the GPS co-ords and also for her tireless efforts maintaining caches all over Singapore and Ubin! This cache took us a while to put up as we kept testing the container and the magnets... This should survive the elements for a while to come.
