Geocache Description:

DO NOT GO TO LISTED COORDINATES, THE CACHE IS NOT THERE. It is located in St. Johns

I was biking around today looking for caches and found them all so I figured it was time to place some. This is a mystery cache dedicated to Tilghman Island, a place I lived years ago but still think of on sunny days.

To find this, you'll have to use wikipedia to gather some information.

But first a little history.

Growing up in Connecticut, I visited Tilghman Island frequently with a good friend and after college moved down there myself. It's a very small town with a population under 1000. The only people that lived there were fishermen who had been on boats their whole lives, people with long generations behind them still in the area and retirees. The island itself is connected to mainland by a small drawbridge that goes over Knapps Narrows (which my friends liked to jump off of when it was raised at the dismay of the bridge attendee).

What is the Route number of this road that runs over the narrows?  Let this equal A

In the summer we fished and canoed and went crabbing off the piers. It was really fun to just go down to the dock and patiently try and net Blue Crabs and then bring them home for a crab feast with your neighbors. But we didn't use butter. In Maryland, you dip your crab meat in Old Bay Seasoning.

What year was the Old Bay Seasoning Company founded? Let this equal B

But we didn't stay on the island all the time. Sometimes we drove up to St. Michaels, a popular tourist destination. If you ever get that way, visit the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and check out the Hooper Strait Lighthouse.

What year was the lighthouse first lit? Let this equal C

Living on Tilghman Island was definitely the simple life. But I ended up moving west to Colorado and ultimately living at 9,000 feet in the mountains. It was quite the change in elevation!

What is Tilghman Island's elevation? Let this equal D

Given that the coordinates are
N45 F.G
W122 H.J

F = A + 2

G = B - 1774

H = C - 1822

J = D + 308

Good luck and if you ever visit Tilghman, eat some crabs for me!
