This cache is situated in a lovely spot for picnic or simply a walk through the bush. Some how it seems a tragedy that such a lovely spot was the scene of a brutal murder.
The cache container is about the size of a large vegemite jar. It would not be particularly easy for a person in a wheel chair to access the cache as it is at ground level. Once you reach the cache site you can read the Maginnity and Morgan stories. Morgan being the bushranger and Maginnity the Police Sergeant who was married and the father of three children. There are many of Sergeant Maginnity's relatives still living in the district. A wealth of information about the murder is available at the memorial.
