Geocache Description:

This CHALLENGE cache (somewhere in Redwood Park) lets us celebrate with the cacher that has been quite a distance from their home. To log a FIND on-line you need to create a list of A cache found in EACH 10km radius, from the closest cache placed to your home. This is out to 500 km, with a Matrix twist.
As part of the challenge you need to go to Mount Lofty, find Waypoint 1, and decode your way to the cache.

Now for the Fine Print:

1/ So, to log a FIND, be prepared to list, a cache found in each 10km radius from an Active cache close to where you live. (I don't need to know where you live, just need a reference point to ensure you have completed the CHALLENGE.) If you have not placed a cache then select and identify another nearby cache.

So that is, a cache found and logged for EACH 10km, selecting the one that has the highest Difficulty x Terrain rating (matrix).
If you don't log the required caches either as a Note, or within your Found it log then your entry may be deleted unless you have included a link to a Public Bookmark.

1/a) To encourage those who have traveled the greater distances you may deduct the WHOLE thousands off the distance, and use the remainder. For example, if a cache was found at 5,345 kilometres from home, then 5,000 kilometres are deducted, leaving 345 so it could be selected for the <350 km zone.
1/b) If you have completed the NT Well-Travelled Challenge, or other Well-Travelled Challenge caches, you may use any cache YOU have placed as the reference point to measure from for the series of 10km radii. You would need to supply a FRESH List of appropriate caches.

2/ The Difficulty and Terrain ratings are the ones that would be currently listed, and may be different from when you found the applicable cache.

For matrix examples: Air Cache Investigation, GC39ZRR of D3 / T3½ ratings gives 3 x 3½ = 10.5, and Posting Some Letters, GC34EEY, with a D2 / T1 rating gives 2 x 1 = 2 matrix rating.

3/ All rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find on Geocaching.com apply. These caches must be physical type caches with logbooks that are listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally found. Earthcaches, and Virtual caches will NOT be allowed.

4/ The posted coordinates for each cache will be used to determine which region a particular cache is located, including multi and puzzle caches.

The idea for this cache comes from a cache of Elin Carlson, EMC of Northridge, CA - GC2KN8Z, "The Well-Travelled Cacher (bthomas) Challenge L.A." (Where 500 miles was the selected Distance for the Challenge) **That is a Premium Member only cache**.

With some elements from other Well-Travelled Cachers Challenges of NT & WA (& SA).

If you go along an unused trail and come across a metal post with a U-shackle on it you have gone just little too far past the spoiler photo. A good map of the trails will help, as would a machete, as the trail to this cache is unmaintained.

By the way, my Distance Challenge TOTAL = 508.75, (when only looking < 500 km), or 558.25 when I use caches found > 1,000 km.
If your total of the matrices is less than 200 for the 50 caches you can still get your Smiley, and while it is not compulsory, please mention: "Failed, but Approval Given".

Congratulations to Greg / Roostaman on the FTF

While the WP1 has recently moved, due to that hiding place disappearing, the rest of it continues the same!
