This cache is a bison tube and should be an easy P&G in a neat little park.
This cache is located at the Blue Star Memorial Highway Rest Area. The Blue Star marker was installed September 14th, 1953. At that time, it was known as the North Ten Mile Drive Roadside Park five miles west of Jefferson City on US 50. The new highway 50 came through and the park was located off the old highway, now Missouri Boulevard. It is also well within the limits of the city. The park was rededicated in 1993 with a large landscaping project by Hawthorne Garden Club, Central District, and refurbished in 2006. It is a very popular place so beware of muggles.
The cache is a bison tube. There is no room for trade items. Bring your own pen. Please replace the cache as found.
CONGRATULATIONS TO Matt & Heatherdear for FTF! UPDATE on this rest area. The Blue Star marker was removed the latter part of 2015, to be relocated at Washington Park, farther into town. The Minuteman statue was a relocated to the Ike Skelton Training Center. This little park is no longer owned by the Highway Dept. but the city of Jefferson. It has always been a very popular place. Update 8/6/21 - They have added 2 nice picnic tables to this little park so it could be a nice picnic place.
2/20/23 Update: They have now added a trail around this nice little park.
