Geocache Description:

The cache is atop a small volcano with fine views over the surrounding countryside.
The cache is the first in a series of Raven caches that are in elevated positions but where the terrain is reasonable and limited steepness. If you are familiar with my cache The Raven, then this is similar in terms of difficulty and fitness required.

This cache is an easy climb providing that you read the description of the routes to take towards the cache. The difficulty and terrain ratings are based on following this advice.
The easiest way to this cache is to walk back along the road towards La Oliva, you will come to a tiny white house, walk along the track opposite and do not attempt to climb the slope of the volcano. The track will slowly climb up to the ridge that links this small volcano with the much higher volcano next to it. Once on the ridge walk back to the large crater atop the small volcano where the cache is situated.
Another route, but harder, is to walk down the road and at the bottom of the hill turn left and skirt the volcano. Do not attempt to climb at all, stay at the bottom of the volcano slopes all the way round to the back of th volcano. Once there it is a very short climb up to the ridge that links the volcanoes. This route is a good way to find a souvenir goats head as there are plenty, some quite impressive, scattered about.
Alternatively this cache can be treated the same as any of my volcano caches, park and head upwards towards the cache.
If you are trying the easy routes it is suitable for children and can be managed in stoutly soled trainers. For the direct route it is suitable only for older children and walking shoes are recommended.
Warning, if you are intending to continue from this cache to the cache The Kennels, then taking the direct walk to the peak next door is hard. The terrain is poor with a covering of rocks and becomes extremely steep near the top.
As with all walking in Fuerteventura, because of the rocky terrain, ALWAYS look where you place your feet, if you wish to admire the scenery, stop walking and plant your feet securely.
