The marked coordinates are for the tunnel entrance. You'll want to park over at the Ace (Pitkins) hardware store and look for a little trail that leads down into the woods. Go down the trail and you're at the tunnel. Just be careful heading down, as there is some broken glass on the trail. To get this cache you need to go completely through and out the tunnel. It's a big tunnel, so you'll be upright (hopefully!) the whole time while inside it. Do be warned there is some vulgar graffiti in the tunnel. So if that kind of stuff really bothers you, you may wish to skip this one.
For this adventure, like its predecessor, you will need a bright flashlight and footwear you don't mind getting wet and possibly submerged. Do not wear footwear that exposes your toes such as flip flops or sandals, as there are some sharp rusty areas in one part of the tunnel that must be avoided. Definitely be updated on your tetanus shot, just in case of an accident. While gloves are not required, they could be useful if you need to grab anything.
OK, so you made it through the tunnel in one piece. Now what? Here are the directions to find the cache:
Exit the tunnel. Go over or under the pipes. Walk a little further. There are now two possible ways to go. Look for the Bridge of Despair. You can't miss it. To get there, you must either contend with thorns or water. The decision is yours alone to make. Regardless, you must rise above to find the cache and sign the log to get credit for the find!
Please note the terrain rating for this cache. This cache is a bit more challenging than its predecessor. Indeed, you'll need a lil upper body strength if you're gonna go for the cache alone. Do not try to cheat. It won't work.
Please do not go for the cache at night. Indeed, the tunnel is rumored to be haunted and frequented by zombies during the midnight hours. Strange moaning has also been heard coming from the tunnel at night time. So please, don't go for this cache at night.
You must sign the log to get credit for the find. I will check! So don't forget your pen. Cache is micro size. Good luck!
