Among the towering castles of this forest lie the hidden secrets of Lord of the Rings...finally completed and ready to be found!
This is a *4-5* part multicache, hidden in Sands Point Preserve. There is a $2 charge per person to enter, and the Park closes at 5:30 PM. The cache is long - most people, though, seem to complete it in 45 min - 2 hours.
*NOTE* Each leg of the cache has coordinates to the next cache. Several are NOT traditional caches, meaning they are not a jar or tupperware container. They can be coordinates written on the back of an object or drawn on a wall. So use your imagination when searching! The final cache IS in a tupperware container. Please seal it tightly before leaving.
Each of the four parts of the Lord of the Rings cache corresponds to a volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's famed series. We started with "The Hobbit" - please don't flame us for including this under the "trilogy's" name (LOTR is not technically a trilogy, anyway.) We wanted to include the dragon in some way and you'll enjoy the extra time spent in this area. :-) Parts 2, 3, and 4 are The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King, respectively. Their hiding places, for the most part, have something to do with each of their namesakes.
NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND FOR EACH LEG: (These are not spoilers, so please read!)
The Fellowship of the Ring - The location's changed. The coordinates are a bit off, but we couldn't change Fellowship's message. The hint should be easy enough to follow. :-) Also, there will be two sets of coordinates when you find this part - either one will eventually lead you to the final cache, and each location has its own merits. If you have time, go ahead and check out both!
The Two Towers - If you choose Option II, be sure to continue along the path towards the water, even after you've found the cache. The view is worth it.
