This is my first geocache, bought as a birthday present by my partner; we both love the experience of geocaching, often taking along her grandson for a treasure hunt.
Child friendly cache hidden in Belhus Woods Country Park , "Cache placed with the permission of Belhus Country Park Rangers". This is a lovely park set on the borders of Thurrock and Havering. There are some wonderful lakes, walks and beautiful bluebell cover in the Spring. In May my Scout district hold their annual Scout's Triathlon in the woods and on the lakes. This has been one of my favourite local places to go for a number of years. The cache should not be too difficult to find even for the young. Close by are some benches and lovely views for a picnic or coffee stop.
Parking charges apply and there is a Vistior Centre next to the car park. There are sometimes Bird of Prey displays as well.
