Geocache Description:

This is the second cache placed in a series of caches that are planned for the Harwinton Land Trust properies. Cache is a small green geocache container.

This property was generously donated by Dr. Frances Holmes across the street from her longtime home on Whetstone Road.  This 12 acre donation gave the Harwinton Land Conservation Trust one of its premier properties.  A trail is cut and marked to make hiking easy to enjoy. Subsequent trail work is continuing to form a loop through the property. At the start of the trail, a fine gravel was installed to improve the walking surface through a small wetland. Casual hikers will find the walk through this property pleasant, comfortable, and dry.  There are some small hills and a small brook needs to be crossed.  The most striking feature of Forever Forest is a pristine marsh in the northwest corner of the property, visible from the trail and from a raised area jutting into the marsh. Those visiting the area are asked to respect the property boundary markers (white posts with a square top) showing the limits of the Land Trust holding.
