Sherburts Suprise Traditional Cache
JaySunn: Dug this one out. It’s been here years and quite popular but I don’t have time to maintain it anymore and the parking lots have been taken over by private companies so it’s time to retire this bucket of sherbet ice cream. This is the original ice cream bucket and I’m amazed it lasted so many years.

Forest Glen park is described as an 7.7 acre park with a trout stream by the city of Bloomington. I can assure you there are no trout in the stream though I wish there were. It is however a nice little natural escape from the urban spread thirty feet above it. The parks little valley has been carved out by a small stream. Forest Glen park is a tiny little valley where you almost forget about the Mountainous Mall looming a short walk away, out of sight, out of mind.
The cache is a short hike through thorns mud and weeds in the woods and depending on the time of year you will cross a wet stream about three feet wide that you must cross a couple times. The city of Bloomington has been trying to sell this area off as a development for retail space for several years with no takers. Spring is the best time to visit, when water runs through the creek and everything is lovely. You will also notice this park has been the victim of much trash and polution so please consider doing a CITO in this space to help return it to its natural state. The Cache you are looking for is camo'd and big enough for coins bugs and other goodies. Its in a certain 'Hollow' after crossing the camel hump hills and very observant cachers will be able to see the hollow in which it sits from the trail head coords. Do not approach from the road that leads to a large manufacturing business directly south of the cache as that approach is through private property owned by The company. Approach from the Mall parking ramp or the parking ramp and look for the train.
