ARGH - A Round of Golf and Hides.... a series of 5 caches hidden on, and which will take you to, the four corners of Rednal Hill and give you some fantastic views all around
The Lickey Hills is a fantastic place to while away time in a peaceful and picturesque part of the country
Rednal Hill is the northern most of the Lickeys and not as popular as those nearest the Visitor Centre, on the other side of Rose Hill, which is a shame given the spectacular panoramic views to be had from there
The walk up to the summit can be as breath taking as the views from the top and will certainly get you puffing and sweating.... hence the D/T ratings of these
Regular local cachers will be aware that this location is awash with puzzle / unknown caches, and the www.geocaching.com map shows Question marks all over the place, so this series is the first of a proposed set of Traditionals across the Lickey Hills Country Park to be placed to hopefully introduce non-puzzlers to the area
This series has been placed to coincide with the 2013 International CITO weekend and to try and take cachers to places they may not have otherwise been before..... and there was lots of rubbish to be found when placing them
......so why ARGH then, I hear you ask?
A Round of Golf and Hides is pretty much what it is all about - the series can be done in any order, but in doing it, you will visit the four corners of Rednal Hill and notice the path that bounds the Lickey Hills Golf Course (Birmingham's oldest Municipal Golf Course)
These hides have had to be threaded in amongst existing hides and puzzles, made safe from muggles and are therefore somewhat off the beaten track, and as a result can be in quite tricky to reach locations...
The D/T rating are set to reflect this and the fact that GPSr coverage can be a bit hit and miss - all coordinates have been set from averaged waypoints taken from an Oregon 450 and double checked (all measured out to within 6 feet at setting) and hopefully the clues will make up for any confusion
Take sturdy footwear, the GZs are in hilly, overgrown and muddy places - and you ought to have a lot of fun getting them!!! Take care, there are snakes out there!!!
You are looking for a fake rock
