Geocache Description:

A dog-themed cache dedicated to our rescued dog, Jack (aka Moose.) This is a companion cache to 'Moose is the Mack Daddy' (GC4AEKP.) See it for more details...

This cache is in the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt which is very near our house.  In July 2012 we rescued a stray (Black Mouth Cur/Boxer mix) in our neighborhood and made several attempts to reunite him with his owners (he is microchipped) but to no avail.  Well it took us less than 24 hrs to realize how awesome this dog was!  After a month had passed we determined the previous owners obviously did not want him back so we decided to keep him.  Best decision we ever made!  We are still amazed at how well trained, obedient and loving he is and we have definitely become "his" people too.   He currently weighs about 82 lbs and I can tell you he is definitely not the size or type of dog we might have chosen had we been actively looking for a pet.  Now, we can't imagine our lives without him.

If you are looking for a pet to love and care for please take a chance and visit your local animal shelter.  Every dog I have ever owned has been a rescue and I can say they really know they have been rescued and make the best pets ever!

We have placed pictures in the cache of Jack (yes we are "those" kind of people who post/give pics of our pets! Haha! Please don't take them as SWAG...we want future finders to see what Jack looks like!) and we have started the cache off with several dog toys.

If you have a story of a rescued pet we would love to hear about it in the logbook or online.  Happy geocaching and hug those pets!

Congrats to BulldogBlitz for the FTF!
