Geocache Description:

The sixth cache in the Old Harlow Loop.  This 2 mile walk takes you past many historical buildings, some dating back as far as the 17th century.

Harlowbury Chapel is the oldest intact building in Harlow and one of the oldest in Essex. This Grade I listed building is dated from the 12th Century and has several original features. Once the chapel of Harlowbury Manor it was allowed to fall into disrepair until a modest £1000 grant allowed the Friends of Harlowbury Chapel to begin to restore it. To see the chapel go through the gate and across the field! Bring a pen. The cache location and container has changed since placing so please disregard previous logs and photos if you are looking for hints!! When you have found the cache, please open from the purple end!
