An introduction to Geocaching presented at the Ferguson Forest Centre in Kemptville
Come out to the Ferguson Forest Centre boardroom at 6:30 PM and find out what Geocaching is all about. There are many geocaches in the Ferguson Forest Centre and we will start by going out and finding a couple while it is still light. If you have tried geocaching and want to learn more or you have never touched a GPS, but are curious, come on out. Experienced geocachers are welcome to join us and share their enthusiasm.
Topics we may cover are:
1) What is a GPS and how does it work?
2) What do geocaches look like?
3) What makes it fun or challenging if the GPS tells you where it is?
4) How exactly do I find a geocache, and what do I do once I've found it?
5) How do I put out a geocache?
6) How do I get to be as cool as Portera? (Well OK, I made that one up...)
