Geocache Description:

Stone bridges were built over the canal so that farmers could access lands which were divided by the building of the canal.

The farms have since been demolished but the bridges remain. One of these Ynysmeudwy Ganol was home in the 1890’s to Captain Daniel Nicholas, a Master Mariner and sea captain who transported coal from Swansea to Australia. The bridge here, near the farm was know as Pont Nicklas after the captain.NOTE - THIS WILL BE REPLACED SHORTLY _ TRY AGAIN AFTER END MARCH
