Treasure Quest! Geoteam Leenah has stocked twenty four existing geocaches around the Big Island with specially marked American Flag stickers in preparation for this game. Between now and July 4th, your challenge is to collect a game piece (flag sticker) from twelve of these caches. How do you know the caches from which to collect game pieces? Only team Leenah is privvy to the list of special caches, but here's a hint:

Think "S-T-A-R-S" and "S-T-R-I-P-E-S"

WIN A BASKET of GEOTREASURES valued at over $75!(includes a free one-year Premium Membership or renewal)
RULES: 1. Your goal is to collect 12 stickers from specially selected cache names beginning with letters that spell out 'STARS' and 'STRIPES', for example, (S)outh Road, (T)ee Time, (A)ppa Dog Bucket, (R)ainbow Rider....(all fake cache names, but you get the drift!) The stickers are marked with the name of the cache in which it is placed. Take only ONE flag sticker from a cache. The prize basket will be awarded to the geocacher (or team) that collects 12 stickers to spell out STARS & STRIPES. If more than one geocacher (or team) qualifies with twelve correct stickers, the winner will be declared by a review of logs to determine who finished first. Consolation prizes will be awarded to remaining players with twelve correct stickers, subject to review of the logs. If no one collects all twelve, runners-up will be allowed 1st, 2nd, 3rd (etc) choice from contents of the basket.

2. Be sure to post online logs to caches you visit. This will enable us to monitor the supply of game pieces remaining in a cache.

3. When determining names of caches, ignore the articles A, AN, or THE at the beginning of a name. Also ignore cache names beginning with Series name. For example, a cache named "Birthday Series #16, A Fishing Boat" would be considered as having the name "Fishing Boat" for the purpose of this game.

Scavenger Hunt! Get READY, get SET, and GO for a prize on this wild n' crazy CITO competition! Everyone who posts "Will Attend" will be emailed at 6 a.m. on July 4th with a list of 20 items to search for enroute to this event...so grab a trash bag, get into the CITO spirit, and have some fun! Bring the most correct items and win an "I'D RATHER BE GEOCACHING" license frame

Food! ...This is as Potluck Picnic event, so please bring your favorite picnic dish to share. To minimize duplications, please indicate what dish you plan to bring when posting "will attend". Bring your own beverage--alcohol not allowed. A cooler of ice will be on site. Paper plates, napkins and utensils provided. Note: This park has no potable water, so bring your own to drink or to wash up.

Contests! Wear the good ol' red, white, and blue because there will be a prize for MOST PATRIOTIC ATTIRE....How skilled are you at following your GPS? Join the fun of a GPS RODEO. You could win a prize and be star of the show!

TB Exchange! Got TBs? Bring them to the meeting for discovery and exchange. Send Leenah the names and tracking numbers of the TBs you plan to bring and we will prepare a list for handout at the meeting -- a HUGE timesaver!

Much more FUN, SURPRISES, and MERRIMENT in store,

so plan to be there!
