Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache, cache is not at the posted co-ordinates. Many cachers  make puzzles that utilize their area of expertise to teach others something new. Here is one for you based on my 35 years of nursing experience to show you some commonly used medical terminology ,  a little lesson in medicalese in the form of a story..

Once upon a time in a place very close to here, lived a LOL inNAD Her name was Gladys. She was very lonely and in need of some company so she showed up at theER to find someone to talk to. The first person she encountered was the lovely and very efficient triage RN who asked her what brought her into the hospital today. Gladys was a clever women and knew the best way to get lots of attention was to say she had chest pain. The nurse immediatealy ordered an ECG. This turned out to be normal so the Doctor told Gladys she would have to stay and have more tests to determine what might be causing her chest pain. He told her it could be numerous things including GERD or a PE. Gladys was not sure what that meant but it sounded scary even knowing she was just pretending to be in pain.
While she was waiting she hoped to find someone to talk to. The room was full of people but they were all very busy and no one seemed to be paying much attention to her. She could see a forlorn looking young lad across from her. His mother looked upset as the doctor explained to her that her boy would likely need a newAV shunt inserted after he had the results of the MRI.
Next to her she could hear sobs and sighs from a young lady with hay in her hair and dirt on her shirt. She lay with a large bandage on her leg elevated on a bunch of pillows. She was explaining to her family how her horse slammed her against the side of the barn. Her knee was badly damaged and she was headed for surgery as soon as possible, but that might be many more hours. The doctor had told her he was not sure if she would need an ACL repair or a TKR.
By now Gladys was starting to think maybe she shouldn't have been feeling so sorry for herself and if she stayed much longer her anxiety might flare up her COPD. Just then a middle aged man was wheeled in past her and a flurry of activity ensued as the staff realized the man was having an MI. That did it for Gladys and she decided it was time to leave before someone called her a GOMER and when she got home she would write a nice letter to the paper about the dedicated staff of CDH.

RED CAPITALIZED words are obviously all acronyms for something bigger. Hint- if it has 4 letters I've broken it up into 4 the words ie, GERD. And GOMER is really 6 words.  Solve them in order then use the hints below to find the right letter and then  convert them to numbers...  hmmm kind of like trying to transcribe doctor's handwriting, it's never a staightforward process !

1-6th letter in 1st word
2-2nd letter in 3rd word
3- 9th letter in 1st word
4- 3rd letter in 2nd word.
