Our worldwind tour continues on the island country of Madagascar. Off the southern east coast of Africa, Madagascar apparantly has become a destination hot spot for many Disney animals looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Bronx Zoo. All we found were hard to pronounce cities, difficult to read maps, and very friendly farmer folk in most of the smaller towns. Hence, we decided to fly from city to city to shorten our trip from 15 days to ten.

With that being said, I give you FOURTY SEVEN minutes to figure out why only ten days but ONE HUNDRED TWENTY TWO minutes in the stockade if you can't. Ready... Set.... Fly...

We're off on the Road to Morrocco, sorry Bing, Madagascar.

Our first flight takes us from Andranomeva to Ambodimahabibo. Ambodimahabibo is a town and commune (Malagasykaominina) in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Boriziny, which is a part of Sofia Region. The population of the commune was estimated to be approximately 9,000 in 2001 commune census.

Primary and junior level secondary education are available in town. The majority 98% of the population of the commune are farmers. The most important crop is rice, while other important products are maize and cassava. Services provide employment for 2% of the population. Next stop, Ambalakirajy. Then Mandritsara, Bedidy and Ambohibe.

Day Two we start in Bekoratsaka. Bekoratsaka is a town and commune (Malagasykaominina) in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Mampikony, which is a part of Sofia Region. The population of the commune was estimated to be approximately 32,000 in 2001 communecensus.

Primary and junior level secondary education are available in town. The majority 55% of the population of the commune are farmers, while an additional 40% receives their livelihood from raising livestock. The most important crops are rice and seeds of catechu, while other important agricultural products are bananascassava and cowpeas. Services provide employment for 4% of the population. Additionally fishing employs 1% of the population.

Then onto Betrandraka, Andilamena, Andohajango, ending up in Didy.
Day Three: A short trip from Antsohihy to Ambakireny. If you think real hard you may not need to actually look this itinerary up on the map to guess what you need. Right?

Day Four: Today we zig zag the country from Andolofotsy to Tsaralalana to Soavinandriana to Ambatolampy to Miandrarivo.

We end the first half of our trip by starting in Mandrosonoro. Then on to Befotaka, Mandronarivo, Andriandampy, Ranotsara Nord, Vohitsaoka, Fenoarivo, Tanamarina, ending halfway to Behisatra. Wow, what a trip.

Day Six: We enjoyed day 4 so much that we decided to repeat it.

Day Seven: Antanifotsy, Ambatolampy, Avironimamo, Miandrarivo, Antanifotsy again, Antsirabe, Tsarazaza, Ambohitompoina, and, guess what... Antanifotsy again.

Day Eight: We enjoyed Antanifotsy SO MUCH, we decided to repeat the entire previous day. (Mainly because typing these cities kinda sucks)

Day Nine: We also enjoyed day 5 SO MUCH, guess what... we decided to repeat IT as well too.

Day Ten: The last day of our trip. We took off from Begogo.
Only primary schooling is available. Farming and raising livestock provides employment for 49.95% and 49.95% of the working population. The most important crops are rice and beans, while other important agricultural products are peanutsand cassava. Services provide employment for 0.1% of the population. From Begogo we flew to Lanakafy, Ambahita, Mahaly, Ifotaka, ending in Tranoroa.

Home to Starbucks...
