Geocache Description:

This is a mystery puzzle by utilizing your imagination and factual items to find the final. All work is done on site. The final is a small lock-n-lock container, big enough for trackables and small swag items.

In many areas, old, forgotten final resting places dot the landscape. No matter the size, these no-longer-active places are home to a plethora of history, whether documented or not. Whenever I get into these places, whether for geocaching or research, I find myself lost, sometimes for hours, as I study the names, places and dates.

It makes me wonder…

What is the story of all these people?

Doing some research recently made me come to this place and I was engulfed by the history here. So many people here were natives of Scotland, and obviously are people who helped build our area.

Other times, we don’t know the story. But we can guess, can’t we?

Enter the story of this long-forgotten family.

Do we know what happened to this family? Absolutely not. But by looking at the facts, we can decipher what happened. And that’s what you need to do to get the coordinates to the final for this mystery cache.

This is an on-site mystery puzzle, but there is a geochecker, in case you want to do it there.

Please note, this is a fictional story based on the facts that you will find. It might be smart to bring a printout of this, or at least write all the information you need so you can figure it out when on site.

It turns out the patriarch of the family was quite the genius though and was way before his time when it comes to coordinates. In a time capsule, this sheet was found. Maybe you can figure out the final coordinates, solve the mystery and find the prize?

(I would encourage you to print this sheet out and take it with you to the cache!)

The final is a smaller lock-n-lock with a log, pencils and an FTF prize. Room for trackables and small swag. Note that you don't need to do anything near, on or anything with headstones or any walls.
