Geocache Description:

This is a classically hidden six inch high green canister hidden in the transitional forest edge of the Shaker Woods Trail.

As I was choosing a hiding spot for this cache, a slithering critter stopped to help.  Did he know that there are plastic snakes and lizards in this hide?  He promised not to terrorize snake-phobic cachers and went on his way.  This cache is winter friendly unless there is a lot of snow.

The Shaker Woods Reserve has a series of five caches to help you explore and enjoy this tract of land which features varied natural communities in a relatively small area.  Each of the caches has a first through fifth finders prize, one per cahce in random order.  Please cache during daylight hours only.  Even though there is no hunting on the reserve, blaze orange is recommended during hunting season.  The Three Rivers Land Trust and Town of Alfred Shaker Woods Chair, Fred Frodyma are delighted to welcome geocachers to the Shaker Woods Reserve.  If you discover anything that needs attention, please feel free to contact Fred at the Three Rivers Land Trust  website, www.3rlt.org.
