Geocache Description:

The Hal and Fern Cooper Wildlife Management Area covers 16,080 acres of northwestern Woodward and south-central Harper County. 

The area is primarily upland rolling sand hills with around 4,500 acres of river bottom. Mixed grass prairie and sagebrush is found on upland sites, interspersed with sand plum thickets. The river bottom is fairly open and consists of cottonwood, American elm, hackberry, and eastern red cedar interspersed with sand plum thickets, salt cedar, and mixed grassland.

It is a little bit of a walk to get to this cache. Its a one mile stroll on a trail with a little bit of bushwacking at the end. Good opportunity to see some native wildlife and vegetation. Cattle are peridocally place in the area for prescribed grazing.
