Geocache Description:

Cache placed outside Thomas Hardy's birthplace and home.

At the coordinates there is an information board giving cachers information on Thomas Hardy, one of Dorchester's most famous residents. The property is the former home of Thomas Hardy, he designed and lived in Max Gate from 1885 until his death in 1928. He wrote Tess of the d'Urbervilles, Jude the Obscure and The Mayor of Casterbridge, as well as much of his poetry at the house, which is now owned and maintained (current rennovations are underway by the looks of the scaffolding) by the National Trust, and more information can be found here http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/hardy-country/

You do not need to enter the property's gates to access this cache.

You are looking for a nano. Be careful for muggles parked in their cars and using the walkway to join the main road. Stealth will be tested!

This cache has been given a www.handicaching.com rating of H12112, please see the website for more information.
