Would you like to see a beautiful panoramic view of River Bluffs Regional Park? This cache will bring you there.
During summer months you can park at the boat landing and have a flat, easy hike along the Mississippi River to the cache.
When the boat landing is not open (winter months) you can park at the entrance to the park. From there you have two hike options. One is to hike down to the boat landing. This is a gently sloping downward hike on a road.
The other option is to follow a trail north into the woods, then east. This is a scenic hike. To get to the cache however, you will have to take one of two trails down to the flatlands. Both of these trails have extremely steep declines. This option is not recommended for weak hikers. Once at the cache you can return the way you came, or continue the loop and go up the boat landing road.
No matter how you get there, once at the cache you will have a gorgeous panoramic view looking up at the bluffs from afar.
Note: The terrain rating assumes the boat landing is open and you can do the easy hike. If that access is denied, the terrain is much more severe and the hike is about 1/3 mile as the crow flies. No bushwhacking until the last few feet. Enjoy!
