Geocache Description:

BOGUS COORDINATES.
To get the coordinates and find the cache you'll need to complete my Farragut State Park History Wherigo cartridge. Note: Farragut State Park charges a day use fee per vehicle to access the park. Please stop by the visitor's center if you do not have park pass and want to access the park.

Welcome to Farragut State Park. This Wherigo will take you around the park. It in no way covers the whole park. There is so much here to see and enjoy. Please have a good time here. All but one area is accessible whenever weather permits. One area is closed from dusk to dawn, so best do this in daylight hours and enjoy the views. This tour is longer than other Wherigo caches we've done. Expect to take 1-1.5 hours depending on your method, quickness, and desire to explore the areas you are going to visit. If you check out everything and cache the other caches along the way, it will definitely take a couple hours.

These types of caches can usually be done with specific GPSr units or a smartphone. If you need help getting an app for your phone, feel free to contact me.

Special Note: Due to weak and intermittent signal in the park, you may experience trouble if doing this by phone instead of GPSr. Unless you have good data signal in the park, you may want to do one of few things. First, hitting the MAP button may cause the app to fail. Save after every point. If it goes bad, it's not the cartridge that's failing, it's the app. It tries to load maps and when it can't, it locks the app and sometimes the phone. Second, place the phone in airplane mode. This keeps it from trying to load maps. The app runs fine without data once it's loaded up and running. So, get it running and put it in airplane mode to prevent map loading. Third, just don't hit map mode. This works best if you know the park and/or have a map of the park. It may work fine, but you've been warned. Signal in the park is suspect. If you are running a GPSr, you should have zero problems.

For more information on Wherigo, visit the Wherigo Website. Your Geocaching.com account and login works there and you will not need a new account. Special thanks to MtnGoat50 for getting me interested in these and doing such a wonderful job on his.

Currently version 2.1. Fixed for signs and made some proximities larger.

Congratulations to Team RIP on FTF
