Geocache Description:

A series of 18 caches on Bridleways and Byway beginning in the hamlet of Littleton Drew. In addition, there is a Church Micro. No caches have been placed in or on any of the dry stone walls you will see en route.

From the village the Bridleway goes towards the neighbouring village of Grittleton. As you join the path, notice the thatched cottage to your left. This used to be the village pub. The pub sign gantry remains outside.
The Plough Inn
The Plough Inn closed its doors during the 1980's. The name of the pub reflects the rural setting.

In the Domesday entry for the village there were 8 ploughlands (land for). 2 lord's plough teams. 5 men's plough teams. Each Ploughteam had 8 oxen.
The Plough Inn is a Grade
II building.
English Heritage list it as follows:
Inn, late C17, rubble stone, part rendered with thatched roofs,
coped gables and end stacks. 1½ storeys, L-plan. Main range faces
north and is obscured by lean-to additions. Eyebrow dormer on rear
wall. West end and west side of rear wing have exposed rubble
stone. Rear wing has south end stack, west side 3-light cyma-
moulded flush mullion window with hoodmould and upper floor triple
casement in coped dormer gable. East side eyebrow dormer.
