Canaux de la Fontenette

« Depuis une petite île, un remblayage pris sur l’Arve permit de créer un canal et de gagner de la terre sur laquelle est aménagé ce Parc. Le canal qui passait á l’emplacement de ce jalon prenait l’eau approximativement sous l’actuel pont de la Fontenette.
Le création d’une digue de retenue traversant toute l’Arve, justifia l’installation de quatre roues de moulins servant aux manufactures installées en ce lieu, en particulier des ferronneries et meuneries. »

In the 19^thcentury one of the canals that were constructed to serve the industries in this area passed through what now is Parc Noie-tes-Puces.

The cache is a « long » micro situated just outside the park.
