Geocache Description:

If this field could talk I’m sure it would have lots to say. Recent stories would speak of battles won and lost on the rugby pitch…battles fought by the women’s club of which I am an alumni and my daughter is now a member. These girls are tough but have the biggest hearts. It is because of this crew that we started Geocaching. This is my thanks to them…and my way to give a whole headed nod to the sport I hold so dear.

Memorial Stadium was constructed in the 1920s as a memorial to the students and alumni who sacrificed their lives during World War I. It was the first memorial on campus and was dedicated in 1929. Identical plaques commemorating veterans are located on the south ends of both West Stadium and East Stadium.
Plans for the stadium began in 1922, when university leaders wanted to build an architectural shrine to honor the veterans who died. They decided that a stadium was a dignified structure that would be useful to the college and community. The west wing was completed in 1922, the east wing in 1924. The enclosing walls were added in 1928 and the locker rooms and offices were built in 1938.
The stadium field is still used for marching band practice, club soccer and rugby. East Stadium now houses the Purple Masque Theatre. West Stadium is used by the department of art for studio space. University football games were moved from Memorial Stadium to the then KSU Stadium in 1967.

Parking is available all around GZ. Depending on your campus status you have several options. If you are just coming for this little guy we would suggest parking in either the parking garage or you can use the campus spots after 5pm without needing a permit.

As with all caches in heavily traveled areas, stealth is encouraged.

Congrats to TheDevines10 and Geocaching_Momma on the FTF.
