Geocache Description:

This is a short, 2 stage multicache, located along the Children of the Sun trail that parallels the new, partially complete, long anticipated, North Spokane Corridor Freeway. Eventually this will connect with I-90 in east Spokane. For now (the summer of 2013) it ends a little north of Francis Ave.

Yes it is open

I remember my first time driving this stretch of road. It was less complete than it is now and I only saw one or two cars. I told my wife it was like having my own private freeway. I'm not the only one that's felt this way. A local newspaper columnist made a similar comment when he and his wife made the drive, "look honey they made this freeway just for us!"

The cache is located near a major interchange. If you're heading north on the freeway and don't want to leave Spokane you should take this exit, it's your last chance. If you're coming from the north on 395, looking for the typical tourist services you should get off here. If you're coming from Canada or other points north, and you decide to stay on the freeway to "see where it takes you" (something I'd probably do) you'll find yourself in an industrial area many miles from any gas, food, or lodging.

The starting waypoint is one or two steps off the trail, in plain sight, not on the ground. The final is on the side of the trail away from the nearby on ramp. It's less than an arms length from the trail and can be reached without leaving the trail or climbing on anything.

  • This is a micro with no room for a pen or pencil so bring something to write with.
  • No tools are needed, either when retrieving or replacing the cache.
  • The cache blends well but is in plain sight.
  • It's not a nano.

"Stealth" in the typical, parking lot LPC, sense shouldn't be needed here but be aware of other trail users and be discrete.
